Day Three on the The Cambrian Way mountain trail 479 km (298 miles) with a total ascent of 22,460 m (73,700 ft). I think it could be Britain's hardest long distance trail. Its hard to say but looking at the map i think i started todays episode around the Mynydd Garnclochdy area i want give exact camping locations away. I was so wet from the rain all night i set about getting ready to walk around 4am just to keep warm. I was no risk at cold from the time of Year and in good health. So walked back up towards Mynydd Garnclochdy i think. The rain came back on top the hill. The rain was very bad so much so i could only see about couple of meters ahead what with the mist as well as the dark even with two powerful lights. By this time my cannon camera was destroyed by the weather i should know by now and my phone was useless take note people think phone navigation fine lucky i know this i used my garmin fenix3 gps watch with the track loaded onto so i knew i was heading in the general dir

Day 1. The Cambrian Way a 479 km long and 22,460m ascent long distance trail in Wales

Day One on the The Cambrian Way mountain trail 479 km (298 miles) with a total ascent of 22,460 m (73,700 ft). I think it could be Britain's hardest long distance trail. It was a late start in Cardiff. Still this time of Year is still a good amount of day time. The trail starts at Cardiff Castle grounds however if you want to see the castle it self you do have to go a little bit of trail which i did not as i have seen the castle many times. It was a walk along the River Taff almost from the start for some way until the route headed away from the river towards Melingriffith Water Pump after which i headed along the abandoned Glamorganshire Canal. After the canal i came out to by Asda Cardiff Coryton Supercentre by the M4 where i topped up on food and drink. The Holiday Inn Cardiff is near here which be a option if you prefer not to wild camp. Tongwynlais village is just a walk away on trail. After a walk though Castell Coch Golf Club i got to Castell Coch. Ahead was a walk along a track though a forest to Three Bears Caves. I stopped for a break at Ridgeway Golf Club and Driving Range for a drink and a bite to eat. Later i found a place to sleep in the Bivvi on hill ridge with some good wind protection as a storm was forecast. I did get some rain in the night and lightning. Even though i was over 300 meters up a hill there was higher in the area and the lightning i hoped would not get to close hahaha i was to tired to move. Melingriffith Water Pump is a water-driven water pump that was built around 1793 to return precious water from the Melingriffith Tin Plate Works to the Glamorganshire Canal. Glamorganshire Canal was a valley-side canal, in South Wales, UK, running from Merthyr Tydfil to Cardiff. Construction started in 1790 Castell Coch is a 19th-century Gothic Revival castle Three Bears Caves are old mines used as filming locations for TV and Movies Buy whats in this video from my affiliate links Cambrian Way: Classic Wales mountain trek - south to north from Cardiff to Conwy @ https://amzn.to/2PB6qoy Cambrian Way - The Mountain Connoisseur's Walk https://amzn.to/2z1DBtV OEX Bush Pro Bivvi @ https://amzn.to/3fjIHVx Ultimate Direction Fastpack 35 @ https://amzn.to/2TSAAHk Mountain Equipment Starlight Micro sleeping bag @ https://amzn.to/2UzBQ2l Montane Atomic Jacket @ https://amzn.to/2YpqLlM MONTANE Minimus water proof Pants @ https://amzn.to/3dVsDsO 6 buffs for sun protection at https://amzn.to/303qS8M SALOMON Men's Xa Pro 3D GTX Trail Running Shoes @ https://amzn.to/37775WW SALOMON Woman's Xa Pro 3D GTX Trail Running Shoes @ https://amzn.to/374Epha Black Diamond Storm Headlamp @ https://amzn.to/2NTj6rS Deuter Quantum @ https://amzn.to/2YAZwU8 Garmin Fenix 3 GPS Multisport Watch @ https://amzn.to/30A3K0H SPOT Gen3 Satellite GPS Tracker @ https://amzn.to/34x3TFo Garmin inReach Mini Satellite Communicator @ https://amzn.to/3hnFndE Globalstar GSP-1700 Satellite Phone @ https://amzn.to/3j766vA Buy what i used to film and edit this video GoPro HERO8 Black @ https://amzn.to/39lgkU0 DJI Mavic Air Drone Fly More Combo @ https://amzn.to/2OC3wk7
